The following three photos show in-river changes at the same location—transect —before and after this summer’s flood. During the initial survey, a downed box elder crossed the stream directly below the transect. In the second photograph (taken directly after the rain stopped), the downed elder has been washed downstream, which has left an open pool and steep banks within view.
